Tai Chi
Lauritz and Juliet Kjerulff

Come early and enjoy morning Tai Chi before the expo doors open. Lauritz and Juliet Kjerulff of Tai Chi Heart will lead two 30-minute sessions of Tai Chi outdoors. At 9am enjoy the sword form of Tai Chi and at 9:30 participate in the Yang style. Experience Tai Chi, an upright dance like moving meditation that nurtures body, mind, and spirit. Tai Chi promotes self-awareness, improves balance and circulation, deepens the breath, and relaxes the body. The slow, dance- like movements are combined with deep abdominal breathing, which has a beneficial effect on the circulation of the blood and on the energy of the body called “chi”. You will be relaxed and prepared to enjoy a fun day at the expo.

Juliet and Lauritz Kjerulff teach classes together as a couple. Their goal is to share the Art of Tai Chi with as many people as possible. “We teach from our heart space and love what we do.” They have been practicing Tai Chi for over 25 years. Juliet holds advanced instructor certification in Tai Chi Yang Style Short Form. They both have studied various forms and have been teaching in Brevard for over 15 years. Tai Chi Heart classes are available in Brevard County. www.TaiChiHeart.com 321-984-9332

Yoga
Suzanne Elliot, Bikram Yoga on the Island

Enjoy a taste of Bikram's yoga during this hour long demonstration. Bikram yoga is a routine of 26 poses based on Hatha Yoga, which works the whole body in 90 minutes. The poses work synergistically and cumulatively to return the body to a balanced state. The yoga builds energy, stamina and flexibility. It incorporates strength, challenge, gravity, balance, and most importantly the tourniquette effect. The Bikram technique allows the stretching, squeezing and massaging of the internal organs, flushing out the cardiovascular system and stimulating the endocrine and nervous systems in order to release any deficient hormones and enzymes. The body is self-regulating and self adjusting. The series works equally well for beginning as well as advanced students.
Bring yoga mats or towel if you have one.

Suzanne Elliott has been teaching yoga for over 30 years. She enjoys helping others help themselves. Suzanne teaches at Bikram Yoga on the Island in Merritt Island. www.BikramYogaMI.com. 321-452-YOGA(9642).

QiGong
Joane Patrick

Joane Patrick will lead a 30-minute class in Qigong. Come and learn self applied healing techniques that will empower you to achieve optimal balance for the complete person – body, mind, and spirit using childlike simplicity of deep breathing, easy flowing movements, and a relaxed state of mind. Joane has studied with many Yogis, Qigong Teachers and Masters. She learned many styles and forms. Her desire to teach comes from her own pain and suffering, her love of the planet and its inhabitants, and the message she learned from her favorite teacher, Joseph Campbell, who said... "if you want to teach people something about the world.... the best thing you can teach them is how to live in it." Joane teaches classes in Melbourne, Melbourne Beach, Sebastian, and Vero Beach. www.QigongwithJoane.com
